At the precise intersection in time of fall and winter lies a perfect moment for bonfires, pancakes, beer, maple syrup and prayers for snow. Slopeside Syrup hosts the 4th Annual Hello Winter Bonfire at Cochran's Ski Area.
The 4th Annual Hello Winter Bonfire
Slopeside Syrup is located at 1090 Cochran Road in Richmond, Vt. The name of the road was changed to honor the family after Barbara Ann Cochran won an Olympic gold medal in 1972.
Mickey Cochran owned over 500 acres of land and had grand visions of expansion, but the ski area only comprises 70 some odd acres to this day.
Cousins Jimmy Cochran, Tim Kelley, and Roger and Doug Brown built this sugarhouse on the family land in 2010.
Sap lines now run prominently around the outskirts of Cochran's Ski Area.
Slopeside sells its maple syrup and spread at the sugarhouse, in select retailers around the country, and in its online store.
In Nov. 2012, the Vermont-based Magic Hat Brewing Company released a limited run of Maple Chocolate Stout featuring Slopeside Syrup.
